Well that sounds big and bad, but at our apt complex, that would get you evicted. Like the previous poster, at our place you aren't allowed to do any vehicle repairs on site. If you are caught by the on site manager, you will get a warning first, the next time you will be looking for somewhere else to live. You know what? I like it. It's nice to not have cars sitting around in various stages of repair. When I have work to do, I just go to a friends house. Heck we don't even have any outside spigots you can attach a hose to even wash your Jeep with anyway. That too has to be done elsewhere.

The irony is that, although I agree on not working or washing the jeep in the complex, my neighbors husband goes out once a week to wash and lint roll his convertible, which is never driven because he blew a head gasket and hasn't planned to fix it since I moved in 2+ years ago.

I have no issue, if the landlord came and said "hey, look, can you not wash your car here" or "Look we're trying to keep this place nice, keep your jeep clean and unless it's necessary don't work on it here". But when neighbors/other people are just being obnoxious about it... Ya know what I mean? I understand why they would say that. And I would have no issue with it. But when other people are being stuck up and sh*t...

I live in a condo complex and we don't have those rules, but I wish we did.
We are a collection of private owners and we elect our own association leaders from fellow owners. We have a set of rules stating how things should be maintained around the property but nothing about working on your car. My girlfriend is the secretary and we have been talking with the others about redoing our bylaws...... if we do, no working on vehicles will go into it.
Reason being that you cannot control what idiots do nor can you increase the level of their intelligence. They do stupid stuff like change their oil and not clean up the stains that they leave. If everyone would take responsibility for their own actions it would be fine, but they don't.

Anyway, I do all my work at the mother in law to be's house. She has a big back yard with a huge oak tree so it's a nicer place to work.

I'm completely fine on taking the jeep elsewhere to work on it, I have no problem, my problem is my obnoxious neighbor that will threaten to call the manager even if I'm just checking my fluids, while her husbands car has dripped oil all over our 'visitors' spots.

Haha that's a scary thought, they really dislike me here, probably cause we have 6 cars and park next to each other all the time

When nobody will park in your spot because there is to much mud on it, when you slam your door and mud falls off

Happened to me except it was a rock that hit me in the head. A few days later I put on 7" flares and haven't had mud, rocks or anything fly into the cab of my Jeep again....

Ah. My old complex fined me $100 3 separate times for working on the jeep. Once doing my lift and twice for oil changes. Sucked. Glad I moved into my first house.

Yea I'm moving to a house within the month, i can't wait to do my own work on it. Plus this complex says "luxury rentals" but the only luxury is the pool haha.

Yeah, but in my case its in the lease agreement. So if I do any vehicle repairs, I am in breech of contract. I signed and agreed not to, so if I work on my Jeep and get in trouble, its my own fault.

Can we get back on track? LOL

- when my neighbor asks if I can move my 'Willy's'
- when my wive asks if it is absolutely necessary to have it so high she almost can't get in
- when I park in front of the restaurant and everybody is looking at the TJ
- when it makes me smile just sitting in it with the top down

When folks stop you just so they can ask if you will sell it.
3rd time this week, one guy even flagged my wife down, while she was driving it, so he could ask.
