You know you drive a TJ when...
every time you take the dog outside to do his business, you "casually" wander to where your Jeep is parked so that: 1) you are reassured that no one's stolen it, 2) you can be reminded just how gorgeous it is, and 3) you can get excited all over again because you know you get to drive it soon. At which point you rush back inside and call dibs to prevent your spouse from claiming the next driving opportunity.

You budget your "upgrades" the same way you budget your mortgage. As a mandatory expense.

Stopped an H3 this morning for speeding. (53mph in a School zone)

Brief, polite, interaction with the driver; license, registration, reason for stop. (as I always do)

Went back to my car, gave the guy a break and wrote out the citation for a minimum fine, $50 for 10mph over the limit. (instead of $280 for 33mph over)

Returned to the Hummer and before I hand him the ticket he says;

"I suppose if I was drivin' a Jeep I wouldn't get a ticket!"

My response; If you weren't driving like an ass through a school zone you wouldn't get a ticket!

How the hell this guy knows who I am, and that I drive a Jeep is beyond me. Never met him before that moment.

And Hummer owners think Jeep owners have an attitude!

As Charlie Brown says; Good Grief!!!!

Speaking of top down doors off..........................................

I never knew that it's illegal in some states to drive with your doors off!
PA drivers can be cited for driving with their doors off (like $170 bucks) and can be cited for each uncovered off road light on the vehicle over the state limit of 2!

I thought MA had some asinine laws!

Stayin' the hell out of PA!

I am only going to guess that it depends on the city because me and all the other Jeepers here have never had a problem with driving with doors off.
They never even look twice when I drive bye and I was pulled over for my headlight with doors and top off and he never said a word just a warning for headlight. Strange how this stuff works I guess

One of the problems in PA (and a lot of other northern states) is that every little municipality has its own police force. They all have different standards, and it seems like the sleepy little towns are the worst. They have no real crime to deal with, so they harass you any way they can to keep from being bored.

Maybe he was just making a joke about how, if he were in a Jeep, he wouldn't even be capable of speeding. xD

You know you drive a TJ when your dog thinks (and hopes!) he's going for a ride in the Jeep every single time you reach for your keys. Poor guy.

LOL! Although his tone was quite sarcastic, that is a good possibility! Had it not been the end of my shift, and being kinda tired and not too quick on the uptake, I could have countered with................That's why ya shoulda' bought a Jeep!

I find that a little odd. The Wrangler doors are only designed to keep the elements out and not the occupants in or protect the occupants. In SA the Wrangler is homologated without top and doors so you can drive lile that without a problem.

When the only good thing that comes from having to get doors/top back on is that you can wear hats/beanies without them being lost forever.

You know you drive a TJ when you can't get pulled over for doing 58 mph in a school zone, because you can't get up to 58 mph!

Whenever we have to drive a distance, we take my wife's car for fuel economy. She'll constantly make fun of me for doing 10 under on the freeway. It's just become ingrained in me!

You know you drive a TJ when you respect the Jeep wave because you're not a soccer mom, or business man who bought a Jeep as a status symbol.

Sorry, just a little jab at the JK owners in my area!

My jeep does 10 over the speed limit without even blinking an eye. I don't understand that part of the jeep thing. You guys make me feel like I'm driving a corvette with how you talk bout how slow you go haha

When I got it i expected it to drive like an overloaded tractor trailer! But it flys. I mean, sometimes you have to get on the gas a little more and it bounces everywhere because of the rough suspension, but that doesn't mean it won't easily do 80+ haha
