you think i could i do this to mine?

I saw this while messing around and thought that that there shouldnt be any reason why i couldt make this work for my 05 TJ. If anyone has this let me know if it is super specific to JK's or not.

Or....I could prob find a way to fab my own with some regular lift gate hatch struts and some of the tabs off a car in the junk yard...its a thought...

Thumbs up

That's cool.
I didn't know about those kits.
At first I thought the hood lift was more practical,
but I also recall the wind catching my tailgate a few times
and having that damn thing slam me in the back.
That doesn't feel very good with the weight of a 33x12.50 on there!
So...both mods are good.

For some reason my tailgate is so stiff that once its open it doesn't move. I have no idea how to adjust it but I like it now.

For struts, look into your local yards for hatchbacks like the Eclipse or Mercury Cougar. The struts are cheap and designed to hold open those rear windows.

X2.....I would just buy a new one though. They are only like $30 new at local auto store.
