yukon grizzly operation

Ok so I recently installed a d44 in the back of my jeep, I have a few questions about how it is acting, first off these may be dumb questions but I have never owed a vehicle with a locked rear end so idk how they are suppossed to act, so please no flaming.

Ok first off, when I first put it in drive sometimes, it makes a popping noise, is this normal,

Second sometimes when I let off the throttle it will pop, it will sometimes also pop if I let off the throttle coast a little ways then get back into the throttle.

I thought it might be play in the gear mesh but when I pulled the cover off, I can hold the ring gear, and try to move the driveshaft, and it barely and I mean barely moves,

Another thing I noticed is that there seems to be play in the locker itself, I say this because I can hold the ring gear still, and someone can rock one of the wheels back and forth a little bit, with out the gears moving

Like I said I'm new to a locked rear so any help anyone can give is much appreciated.

The Grizzly is a Detroit Locker copy. The detroits are a noisy sucker so I would guess these are too. You have some play because the teeth have some designed in clearance. I don't think it is a big deal. My Detroit in my Chevy popped and clicked and chirped tires all over the place. You can see the slop in the companies video.

I'm as well looking into new lockers and axles and contacted my friend who installed a lift on mine, he owns a local shop that specializes in Jeeps specifically. He has the Grizzly locker and I was told they have a warranty, though can't remember how long it's good, I think he said lifetime, that if it breaks and causes other collateral issues, they will pay up to 2k in repair costs. He runs it on front and rear of his Wrangler and has had no issues. He says that the first time you will hear a popping or clicking noise and the Jeep may pull a little, but after a while you won't notice it anymore. It is full time though but apparently does wonders off road. I'm thinking of going with it just because of the warranty and how well he can attest to its on road handling.
