So I'm looking to use ZJ front coils in my TJ. However I've been searching for part numbers. I've found numerous ones and just want to make sure I order the correct ones. One link I found said CC784 however I'm seeing 782, 780 etc. I have a 1.75 BB lift now and just looking to level my front. I need about another 1-2" max to level it out/ not as much rake.
So my options are:
3" spacer in front (ditch the 1.75)
Or
Zj springs front (1"??) and keep my 1.75
..not into wheeling much, just a nice stance on my 33" tires.
I have about the same setup with the exact same question!
I have been leaning towards the ZJ spring option myself, you should do it and show us the results.
I ran a 2" BB in the rear and a set of v8 ZJ springs up front for about a year and liked them a lot. I bought them used for $25 and gave them away on my last lift. Unfortunately, I don't know the model number for what I used. I was running BB front and back and replacing the front BB with the ZJ springs I gained about an inch of lift. Uncompressed, they are the same length as a stock TJ spring but since they are stiffer, they don't sag as much. The ride was still better IMO since I like the the front end tighter with less roll on the streets.
My gap from my 33x12.5x15 tires to fender is:
Rear 5.75"
Front 3.75" driver, 3.5" passenger
Using 1.75" spacers on stock coils
I'm even debating right now to use 3" spacers up front and remove the 1.75. That's an extra 1.25" which would be plenty. Cause I do tow a boat every weekend and want some type of rake to make up for that extra weight. Zj coils are 75 shipped brand new for a pair and spacers are 65-70. Just weary about buying coils that some say give 1", others saying 3-4". Still doing research! This whole idea is just to keep me happy while I decide on what actual lift to buy in the future. I'll keep you posted, pics coming soon when photobucket stops acting up.
