Zone 4.25" + SYE/CV

I'm planning on getting the Zone 4.25" lift and I was also going to get the Tom Woods SYE/CV kit to go with it...Is it necessary or recommended to have the SYE/CV even though I'm going with the BL? Also, will I have to do purchase a different SYE/CV kit if I do a Belly up conversion at a later time?

A body lift has nothing to do with the suspension it just lifts the body, so yes a CV driveshaft would be your best bet. When you do the belly up all you will need is adjustable upper control arms which you should already have to adjust the angle of the diff for your CV driveshaft. If you do not have adjustable upper control arms you will never get the driveline angle proper regardless of what type of driveshaft you have.

Thanks for that...it actually answered exactly what i was looking for...I'm gonna order the Zone 4.25" and get currie adjustable UCA and a Tom tail shaft + CV conversion kit to round it out...Does that sound about right, or am I missing anything? I have a Zone lift and I like they're products and I don't do HEAVY wheeling so I felt it was plenty for me, and the CAs + CV finished it off IMO...

Anyone's input is more than welcome

Sounds like your doing it right. 2.5-3" SL is where a SYE kit is recommended. You must get adjustable CA's when you install a SYE to, as mentioned, adjust your pinion angle.

Oh and doing a tummy tuck pretty much requires a SYE and body lift.

I figured that much, that's why I decided to go ahead with the CV + SYE...

Another question...If I have the CV + SYE, do I still need the T-case drop?

You won't need the drop. The t-case drop is just a bandaid and the SYE is the cure.

Perfect...thank you for the help!

Also, is there such thing as a low profile skid...that is not a belly up conversion? Now i'm trying to think farther ahead after all the goodies are installed

The two are the same. Low profile skids are called tummy tucks or belly up skids.

Check out this site for some good skids to choose from. Also look at Rokmen and Savvy.

I believe you will need to install MML and BL for a tummy tuck.

You don't need a MML for tummy tucks. It's just recommended, it's also recommended with a BL. UFC has a no BL skid, but I think it's in your best interest to get the BL and go with an even slimmer skid.

I forgot that the kit comes with a BL so he doesn't really have to worry about that.

I wrote this earlier, but I decided since then to go with the 4" SL since it provides new lower control arms. I'll do more research on the Lopro T-Case mount before I decided on what to do as far the skid plates go

UCF offers a 10% discount to forum members. Just received my no-body lift required UCF T-Case skid and its a solid piece of equipment.

Did you get the Lopro mount too? If so, will you let me know how the install went and how you like it. If I can get away with doing a TT w/o a BL I'm all for it.

Under Cover Fabworks, LLC - No Body-Lift Needed Skids

A 1" body lift isn't all that bad. With it you can get an even shallower skid. Also allows raising the gas tank by 1".

UCF No-Body lift skid. Ground clearance increase by 1 1/2"
Under Cover Fabworks, LLC - '03-'06 TJ/LJ Transfer Case Skid (No Body-Lift Req'd)(Carbon Steel)

UCF Ultra High clearance skid. Ground clearance increase by 3 1/2"
Under Cover Fabworks, LLC - '03-'06 TJ/LJ Transfer Case Skid (Ultra High-Clearance)(Carbon Steel)

Though they say you can install their Original skid with the LO-Pro mount and no body lift
UCF Original skid. 2 1/2" clearance
Under Cover Fabworks, LLC - '03-'06 TJ/LJ Transfer Case Skid (Extra-Clearance)(Carbon Steel)
