Zone lift. now a few questions

After driving about 50 miles I went back out to look everything over tonight. Here is what I noticed.





The one on the passenger side is right in the middle like it is supposed to be. The one on the drivers side is nearly touching the spring. I also noticed that the sway bar link on drivers side is nearly touching the frame.



Like I said in my other thread, it is not aligned yet. I don't see how that will help this.

I did this same lift a couple of weeks ago. I don't know what to tell you about the spring, but I ended up having to reverse the bolts (inside out instead of outside in) on the upper sway bar links to keep the driver's side from rubbing the frame.

Looks like you need an adjustable trackbar to center your axle.

So is this any indication as to what I should expect out of the Zone lift?
I'm looking to buy an affordable 4" lift and this is on I am interested in.

How would this compare to the 4" Skyjacker Economy Lift kit? Both around the same price but what would be the difference?

Update. I talked to the crew at Zone today and they were very helpful. The first thing I am doing is getting the ball joints fixed tomorrow. Then do the suggestions Zone gave me. I didn't have time to do any of it today, very busy day. I don't think there is anything wrong with the lift as this is a learning experience for me. I think a proper alignment and figure out where the trac bar works best will make alot of difference.

From what Ive read, Id stay away from skyjacker. Zone seems to be gaining a lot of publicity lately and its nothing bad. A lot of jeeps swear by them and are saying its one of if not the best budget kit out right now. I'd run the 4" lift myself, but the majority of them are running the 3" with 1.25 BL.

Im running the 3" Zone and love it. If everything is installed properly and all of your other components are in good working order you will not have any issues. I have about 2k miles on mine now and it works great. Not one complaint.

Glad to hear that you found out the problem to the lift. Is there a reason you went with the 3" instead of the 4"?

Using a 3" lift allows you to use more of your stock components.

i had the same thing with my 3 inch. mine was actually scratching the frame making an awful screech every time i hit a bump. i did like somebody said and reversed the bolts. i also moved the sway bar to the center and re tightened all the sway bar link bolts. then i had it aligned and no big deal now.

Terminator WAIT!

Terminator, First of all great purchase. I have had my Zone 3" lift for over a year now. The only issue I have ever had is the same one your experiencing with the sway bar that has shifted to one side. I noticed mine after a distinct "squeeeEEK" coming from the drivers side, same location and description of your issue. The bolt was rubbing the spring Mount (Bracket) on the frame. I found a solution. You can order or maybe just pick a set of these up from a local parts store. there called a "split shaft collars" .

Remove the sway bar cover and pull the sway bar towards the drivers side, Might take a little umph! so pull hard, it will slide. Get it to be even on both sides (passenger / driver). Apply two split shaft collars on the inside of the sway bar mount (one on each side) almost touching each side. Apply a little loktite on the screws of the collars and your good to go. Mine stopped squeaking and rubbing. Parts costs me $28 delivered in 2 days. I cant remember what size collars so you'll have to measure.

Update......

We moved the trac bar back to the original hole, got the alignment. turned the bolts to the sway bar links around. Every thing lined up great. It rides and drives great. Now I got to get a new speedo gear. According to the Garmin I am 10 mph off. More money to spend.
