15 gal to 20 gal--I finally did it!

What a PITA but it worked just like everyone said. That tube was a SOB to get out at first. Lost a lot of skin on the back of my hands but once I figured out that vice grips and a pry bar was the ticket it was a breeze. Thanks to the guys on the forum with the pictures and instructions.

I must have missed this thread...what did you do? Show some luv for WF brothers and lay it out for us.
But I know exactly that feeling, when you try something and you actually make it work.
So here's an extra slice of raisin pie for you.

Some other WF fella's talked about the only difference between a 20 gal and a 15 gal tank was a long plastic tube stuck down in the 20 gallon tank vent tube at the factory. If you wanted to pay for a 20 gal "upgrade" on the new Jeep you were buying, Chrysler would simply not put the tube in. Otherwise the tanks were identical. A couple guys attached some photos and step by step instructions on how to remove the tube, which I did. And now I have a 20 gal tank. I'm not sure how to attach the link to this reply.

Thanks for attaching the link, that is the same one I followed to convert mine.

Wear mechanics gloves and save your skin on the back of your hands. Like I mentioned, I finally just used vice grips and a pry bar and pried it out one inch at a time.

I am glad you go yours converted also. Yes I would defiantly recommend getting a set of needle nose vise grips before even trying it.
