I have a dakota ax 15 im wanting to swap into my 93 yj mine needs rebuilt. I have seen alot of post about people talking about doing it but has anyone actually swapped one in. Let me know what problems you ran into.
I believe that the Dakota clocking ring is wrong, just like the XJ's are. Either replace the back half with your clocking ring or drill 6 new holes in it to clock the t-case up where yours is now. Other than that it is the same trans and bolt pattern to the motor.
I heard there clocked liked the cherokees do u know if the pilot bearing is the same size as the yjs. I swapped a xj 4.0 into a yj years ago and the pilot bearing was a diiferent size i had to have a special bearing made.
