Question 1995 YJ Sahara soft top question?

Hi there my name is Steve and Im new to the whole forum thing so I hope someone here maybe able to help me with a question that I have...
So I know that there are a few different types of soft top that I can get for my 1995 YJ Sahara but my question is, are 1995 yj factory top the same as a 1995 YJ Sahara factory soft top? I only ask because I bought a used one and it seemed like it's not the right size.

Take a picture of the soft top hardware on your Jeep and we will get you on track

Also head to Bestop.com and have a look at the different soft tops... there you will gather there are Supertops, Replace-a-tops, some work with aftermarket hardware, some work with full vs half doors, etc.

Where is it not fitting? Do you have half doors? I had to work really hard to get my new top (1991) to fit, even had to saw off the ends of the window brackets to go in the half doors. Best to do on a warm sunny day to make the canvas more pliable.

As far as I know, the tops should be the same. In other words, the trim line did not matter for the top.

I have a 95 Sahara and if you buy an aftermarket top, there is no designation of Sahara vs SE vs S vs Rio Grande. Thus, I don't think it should matter.

The tops are NOT super easy to fit on, especially in the north at this time of year. I left my top off all summer, had it in storage. I had it out on a 'relatively' warm day and had to put the top on...NOT easy.

As others have said, pictures are worth a thousand words on a jeep forum.

As Trauma alluded to, there may be a difference in upper back corner of the door frame (squared off from factory and some aftermarket, rounded off in some aftermarket). Also, different brands likely have different hardware. If you have factory hardware, but end up with certain Bestop canvas only, it may not go together properly.

So yah, give us more specifics and we should be able to help more.
