1st time Jeep owner

banghead:Hello Jeep People,
this is my first jeep, thank you, thank you!! can you guys help with this?
i have a 94 YJ with softop and 1/2 doors and i need a Hardtop. I use the Jeep to pick up the kids and drop them off at school and last winter was a bad one. Can i use a Hardtop with the 1/2 doors? this would only be a summer thing cause I might pick up the full doors as well. can i use the hardtop off of a 89 YJ with my 1/2 doors?

here's the rub. its all about the upper door half. factory hard tops have a round top corner opening, factory soft uppers have a square top corner, because the factory soft top is square. they will not work together. either find yourself hard doors and hard top for winter, or they make round soft uppers in the aftermarket that may work with a hard top, i'm not sure. the hard upper halfs are nice, but you'd have to check if the aftermarket uppers work with factory hard top.

It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."

oh, ok. the original soft top has been changed a few times prior to me having it, i'll check the corner's and see what i have. Thanx a mil! I'm going to see the guy with the Hardtop tonight so hopefully it all fits

Amberfire -
I can't see the pic, but would love to just to see exactly what i'm looking for tonight

also, the year shouldn't matter as long as its a YJ, right?

Sorry, guess i don't know how to load pics on here. To the best of my knowledge, all of the CJ 7 and YJ hard tops will interchange. The later (YJ) hard tops have better rear windows though.

Basically, the only difference is the top of the soft doors will have a round edge that fits the hard tops' radius.
