4 banger question

Just pulled my 4 banger out of my yj it has 182,000 miles on it and is in good running shape. What are these things worth? Trying to sell it to put towards part funds but don't really know the value.

You can get about $100 for it in scrap price. That is about all that it is worth. Unless you can find the proverbial needle in the haystack of a person that actually wants a 4cyl in their YJ. But with 182,000 on the clock, most will pass on it since its about due for a rebuild anyway.

2.5 is bullet proof (Long block anyway). Gets great gas milage (hahahaha). Plenty of power (if you don't mind down-shifting up every hill). Chicks think its cool (at least my wife does), Chances are you won't ever get a speeding ticked (unless you drive through Egremont, MA) And last but not least....everybody wants to get rid of them, so if you need one or parts for one....they are everywhere.

I love mine!

By the way...if you are putting in a 6 or V8 did you research the amount of work involved???
I would have kept the 4!!!!

Yeah bought this thing with no intentions of stock motor being in it. Bought it took it to work and pulled motor and tub off. Now I'm ready to start dumping money into it lol

I have sold TWO 4 bangers in the last 3 years....I got $400 a piece for them each... I have another as a hot spare in the garage.

People who bad mouth it are the same ones who do not understand it......
