89 YJ complete @ home

Just wanted to let you all know that the YJ is home, and complete, sort of. I don't like the way the motor is running on the street, no power. I will test it out further tomorrow, and try to get some good flex shots for you. I am sure there are bugs to work out on this motor, and it even has a hand held computer link that allows you to change rpms, spark advance, timing, and the like. Just need to learn how to use it. Anyway, will be back in touch with you all tomorrow eve. some time. It is pretty impressive to see a YJ with a wheel base of 106" and on 42" Irocks. It sure turned some heads bringing it home. I just want the 350 to run right. Should not have any hesitation in it, but it does. Not much better right now than a 4.0. I will figure it out, or get someone that can.

By the way Hardy1531, I know this Jeep is not street legal, and it is not meant to be. Do not worry, I won't drive it over top of you. Please refrain from making any of your rhetorical comments. I will wear my 3" customized racing seat belts when I operate it. All safety measures have been taken into consideration. I promise that I will not hurt myself with this Jeep. If you still want to comment............then,

Took the camera with us today, and I think we only took two pictures, breaking a quart bottle of Budweiser over the stinger,bow........lol. Not my idea, friends that met us on the trail insisted on it. What a machine though. Climbed stuff that was totally ridiculous, and felt so stable and solid. Even did some crazy crossing of some deep water cut outs, pretending it was the Golden Spike in Moab..........I know, I am silly, but I had to see how far it would flex before lifting a back tire off the ground. Totally amazing, and never got tipsy at all. Needless to say, I am very impressed with the coil overs. I spent most of the time out there rescuing other Jeeps. One broke an axle at the top of a pretty gnarly rock climb, and we had to remove the axle and tire, set him down on a log, and drug him back down to where a friend of his could load it on a trailer. Another Rubi bellied out in some deep mud, and pulled him out. Had so much fun that no one took any pictures other than the christening. I will download those pictures.

LOL..........I didn't want to hurt the TJ........I knew the YJ could handle it..........wasn't sure about reversing this photo. Didn't want to hurt lil Rubi. It was all it could do to climb up there.......lol, but all the wheels are on the ground, I was impressed. That is 5,000 lbs of bad ass YJ.

Nice Viking. Looks like it turned out good. Did you get the issues with the motor figured out?

And now you gotta take a pic with the YJ with it's tire on top of the Rubi's hard top. with that setup on there I know it will do it.

You are trying to get me in trouble with the Mrs. If I ran that heavy YJ up on her Rubi, there would be nothing left but splinters, and bent up sheet metal. I will do my best to get some flex shots though. My son has a flat bed F350 and told me to pull up on the back of it, I did, and of course no one had a camera handy at the time. It sure made his truck moan and groan when that YJ mounted it from the rear.........lol

Almost forgot, no the engine is not running like it should in top gears, but screams in the lowers. Already have front axle wrap, and the upper links in the rear are both loose. I am taking it back to them on Thursday, to let them adjust it all. Only got in about 2hrs of wheeling before I noticed the axle being loose. Also have a seal leaking on the front axle, and will have them replace that as well. I am sure this is normal, but it sure is aggravating.

Great looking YJ.
Were was the safety crew that allowed you to break that bottle in your bare hand. I'm thinking maybe a glove?
