92 YJ upstate NY. What fun.

Well here we go. Picked up this yj about a month ago. Have about another month to get on the road. My son takes his road test and he will be getting my dd toyota pu. Done most of the patches for the good ol NY rust. Not pretty but will be covered with aluminum d-plate. Hopefully replace the blown rear end today. Plan on going with a Black bedliner and orange color pattern. Need a driver not show vehicle. This is my 8th jeep in the last 23 yrs. Also my newest. Been out of jeeping for about 8 yrs. good to be back. Try and keep posting. Having trouble posting pics. Have to have my kids help me.

Still waiting for help with the pics. Hopefully soon. I did not get the rear end in. But it is ready. Finally broke the bleeders loose tonight. Rather do that outside the jeep than under it. Fixed the hole in the frame , behind the passenger rear tire. And got the jeep primed. Sun. was a good work day. Hopefully this weekend it will be painted and rolling. With a little help. Hope to have pics by then

Got the rear end put in and new brake lines hooked up. Only problem i have is the new rear end came out of an 89 mine is a 92 and the e-brake cables are shorter in the 89. gonna have the figure something out. Eventually gonna need new shocks. Problem is I believe this jeep has some kind of lift. 2.5" to 3" Sits on 31" tires with no problem. So I wanna get the right shocks. Shocks say Rough Country on them. And I bieleve it says Heckethorn on them. Sticker is pretty messed up. Any ideas?
Hopefully have the drive shaft put in and brakes bled today. love to move it out of the garage to finish putting it back together. Since it's been sunny and mid 80's lately. If I get it moving will post some out door pics tonight. If it only goes that easy lol.

Just read your thread Wranglerbrother. Nice jeep. I see you are also a New Yorker. You got a nice semi rust free Jeep. nice. wish mine was. Wow. Worse than I thought. Talked the guy down to 1800. should have went to 1300 lol. I dont have a sway bar on right now. The new ,to me, rear end didn't come with one. And the old one is way rusty. Gonna try it out and see how it goes. Lot of windy roads here and I drive 50 min. to get to work. So should know soon how I like it. Was told it will drive better. I guess that is all in who you ask. Huh? Hopefully have it on the road in the next few weeks. Can't wait.

Haven't done a thing to the jeep this weekend. daughter graduated from high school. Been pretty busy. I have rear LED likes coming and still need to bedline the inside. Hopefully in the next week or so. Friend of mine is a over the trucker and said he will pick me up some led lights from a truck stop. said they are pretty cheap. Same ones on the newer trailers. We will see. He will be back tomarrow.

Jeep looks great! I'm originally from the area and grew up about a mile from the airport in HH. Spent literally years of my life in WG and hundreds of hours driving on WGI.

I graduated from HHS. Moved here 16 yrs ago. only been on the track once and that was in a school bus(my son's elementry school class won a contest for reading.) That was a trip. Been to the track a time or two. Much easier to watch the race on tv. Gotta love this area.

Do the flush led lights luminate the license plate like the stock break light does, or do you have to add a marker light,
We have to have one to pass inspection,

Not to mention, The Cortland Police will pull ya over for a chat and give you one of those coupon thingies,

I plan on adding a small liscence plate light. I also picked up 2 2" clear lights for back up lights. need them as well for inspection.

Anything north of Liberty is upstate. I lived in Upstate NY for a long time. North of liberty is generous btw. Most people consider anything NW of the city upstate.

I have the flush mounts with no reverse indicators but thankfully NJ has no mechanical inspection anymore!!!!! Just emissions. That being said, I'm gonna put in some clear reverse indicators anyways. Not only is it safer, but today I had to give up a sweet parking spot cause it was directly in front of a cop and I couldn't very well back up into the spot in front of him without them.

That would definetly be my luck. was looking at it last night and it gonna be tough putting the 4" red led light above the gas filler area along with the 2" clear backup lights.Wonder if there is room to move the filler hose to the left side of the jeep behind the back tire. Not sure if the hose is long enough. gonna look at it today. Plenty of room on the right side. Then i need to do something with the liscence plate.Hmmmm. guess that could go on the spare or bumper. we shall see.
