94 YJ Oil Pan Skid...?

Anyone have any suggestions for an Oil Pan Skid for a 4cyl YJ?
The only option I can find is from "Skid Row" and the best price is $244 which is a lot more than I'd like to spend. All others are for 6cyl......anyone know if they would fit?

Yeah a 6cyl will fit but, the oil drain plus access hole in the plate will not be in a useable spot if you use the 6cyl plate on the 4cyl. Skid Row mayes awsome skidplates, yes they are expensive, but how much does it cost to replace an oil pan? My wife used her skidplate on her 4cyl YJ to the point that I had to take it off, haul it to work, flatten it with the hydrolic press and reinstall. It's still on there today.

On your wifes 4cyl...she used a Skid for a 6cyl? Does the drain hole line up enough for Oil Changes or are Modifications or removal necesary?

My wifes YJ has the correct skid plate on it for a 4cyl. If you use a 6cyl plate on a 4cyl the drain hole will not line up, I would think this would make for a major mess! I know the 6cyl will fit because all the mounting points are the same.
As for oil changes...well...when the proper plate is on, there is an access hole in the plate to get to the oil plug and let the oil drain through. It is a very good design but there is still a good chance that some of the oil may drip on to the pan. I loosen the plug and make a funnel out of cardboard to help with directing the oil, keep it touching the oil pan at the bottom where the drips are. The next trick is the oil filter. I use an empty rectangular gallon container, like antifreeze or oil, and cut the front or back out of it in a square opening, let the flap of plastic fall inside the catch pan you just made. Take that catch pan and set it on top of the skid plate up by the starter. Perfect fit. This trick does not work with 4.0. Change the filter. Most of the oil will fall in to the catch pan. The rest runs down the block and drips on the starter, not much you can do about that. When done that be sure to REMOVE the catch pan and dispose of properly, and wipe things down.

Ok great, thanks again for the info. Good to know that mounting points are the same....nothing a hole saw couldn't take care of for a drain.
You wouldnt happen to know if said mounting points are the same on a TJ? I see Warn has a nice skid for 4cyl TJ..... only about $144.

....my other option is FREE.... Not let my Brother drive again!! I have had the Jeep since 98 with no problems..... he drives for a few minutes on a trail and re-arranges a bunch of rocks with my oil pan and exhaust! He didn't bust anything....just some battle scars, but it has me wanting some protection.
