Question 95 wrangler clutch travel

Just installed new stage 1 racing clutch with new throw out bearing and pilot bearing. Fly wheel done also. Clutch engages right off the carpet and pedal is softer even though it should be firmer. Had to take spacer off of slave cylinder to get clutch to disengage on floor. Before clutch replacement clutch engagement was at the last 1 to 2 inches of pedal travel. Wondering if this is normal?

Mine engages 1 to 2 inchesfrom the top, and was wondering if the clutch needs to be replaced or adjusted?

My clutch had about 1/3 left on disc but throwout and pilot were shot. Pressure plate springs were also weak. ***Welcome to eCLUTCHMASTER.com*** has good deal on stage 1 racing kit for 2.5 wrangler.
