a question about yj half doors.

hey gang, I have a 1987 yj with a hard top and full hard doors. I just picked up a soft top frame, half doors and windows from a guy parting out a 1992 yj.

Now obviously I cant use the soft windows with the hardtop becuase they are shaped differently. however, I should still be able to use the half doors....just without the windows. correct? I'm asking becuase I pulled the full door off the driver's side, and fitted the half door. It wont close. The door latch does not line up with the striker pin. I noticed the lower hinge pin was fully seated but the upper looked like it was 1/8 inch from being fully seated. I don't think my truck has been hit or tweeked. can I loosen the hinges on the half doors and adjust them to make the door close correctly?

There shouldn't be any different in all YJ doors from 87 to 95 correct??
thanks!

Jake

the doors are the same, you can use the half doors with no windows, but the door alignment is off. the hinges need to be adjusted to use the other doors.

I believe they make a upper half that will work with your hard top.
