About to buy my first Wrangler, need some help

So i'm looking to buy this yj and the gas pedal on it is like super firm, i have to push my whole leg on it to get it go, then it like all the sudden just takes off. It doesn't accelorate normally, is this a huge problem to fix or what? Also the gages are starting to go out and there isn't a working speedometer or anything. Some of the pictures of the engine are included here if you guys can see anything they will be added in a few minutes.
the problems with the car i can see are that it has this
Sticking and firm gas pedal
Gages are almost all not working (tach, gas, and temp barely working)
Odometer was clamed to go out a month ago but they could just be lieing about it.
Aligniment is out of wack
Good:
new tires
Hard and soft top
said he replaced carb on it while owning it
4w l/h both work
Thanks for the help He's asking 3000 cash today, the body is in great shape no major rust spots i saw on the under carage

Love to help, a little info would be nice... Year, engine, tranny?

Sounds like a bad or kinked cable to the carb, not too difficult to replace. But that can be dangerous so be prepared for it to stop working in a moments notice and shut down the jeep DO NOT LOCK THE STEERING WHEN YOU DO SO.

Speedo and odometer run off the same cable, either electronic or cable from the TC. Probably the cable (if its a cabled version) if not then their could be several issues from the electronic dash, to the cabling, to the sensor at the TC. The other things could be sending units or loose connections or even bad guages. You wont know for sure till you start into it. But none of which would keep me from buying it, but it could be a bit of a headache till you get them ironed out.

How so, what kind of wear on the tires? The only alignment issue would be a toe issue, and that could be caused by damage/bad misalignment/bad ball joints.

Sounds decent, I would consider it.
