Aftermarket mirrors

The stock mirrors on my YJ are WAY too small for my liking so does anyone have replacement ideas? Also I would like mirrors when the doors are off, for safety reasons. Any suggestions?

You can get a set of the door hinge mirrors to replace the "little door mirrors". The only problem will be is that you need longer torx bolts for your hinges and the door will have a set of "bolt holes" where the little mirrors would have been.

If you want a set of mirrors to be on your jeep with doors off...go with the CJ mounts that bolt onto the windshield hinges. Solves both problems...

If he has the older style of hard doors, those mirrors will require modification. You would have to drill new holes in your doors and current hinges.

That is correct for both sets of mirrors. I have 1989 hard doors on my 93 YJ with hardtop and opted out for the newer style mirrors because of the different hinges (also because I didn't feel like doing any more body work to the doors before I shot them to the existing holes from the small mirrors...just put new small mirrors back on).

The CJ style will also have to be drilled and tapped to do it correctly in the windshield frame, at least for the pic I posted above for THAT style of mirror. There is another set that uses other holes on the actual windshield hinge itself. Those would be the ideal setup. Sorry for the confusion....
