Aftermarket seats

Looking for new seats.
Specifically the drivers seat (I ride alone 90% of the time and don't have a back seat). It's pretty worn out and it slants to the left quite a bit.
I'm in the process of Herculining my YJ ( "95, 5 speed, 2.5L). Did all the prep work today and will finish it tomorrow.
Having taken everything out gives me a chance to look at installing new seats.
Have looked at a few online but it's not the same as trying one.
Any recommendations for make and models? Not my primary vehicle but I do drive it every day, Average about 500 miles a month.

I have these,,,Bestop thermal trailmax seats..... very comfy and the heat option keeps your arse warm on the cold days..

Avoid the Smittybilt reclining suspension seats (copies of the Mastercraft recliners). I bought them and within months the seat materials were deteriorating. I've checked out the PRP, MC and Corbuea, all of which seem to be much higher quality.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably go with the Bestop Trailmax. Being in south Florida, I'll probably pass on the thermal option

I just ordered a set of these today, should be getting them delivered late next week.
Reclining Racing Seats - JCWhitney

Supposed to need drilling the sliders to fit a YJ properly though. Price is for a pair of front seats!

aar= All American Racer! My buddy had one of those back in the day, very fun car to drive!!!

I second that about the smittybilt seats! The recliner mechanism failed in 3 months and the replacement seat is already falling apart after 6 months. I guess you get what you pay for.

the bestops are great seats. my hubby had them in his yj and they held up great. i have rugged ridge seats in my cj and they are holding up very well. the have been in there for over a year and haven't faded or warn at all.

Thanks for the Thread everyone. You have sold me on the TrailMax seats also. Have any of you used the Trailmax Consoles? They look kind of busy but I would want to get something that matched the seats.

The thermal seats have been discontinued, but I think there are still some out there at retailers. There's a new seat bracket for TJ owners, so make sure you get the right one if you're a TJ owner.

The consoles ARE busy - they try to take care of all those thigns that your Jeep didn't do so well - huge cupholders, lockable storage, power outlet, interior lights, writing tray. They work well, but of course I would say that. You'll get a more reliable review from someone else.

I've got the trailmax console...it's all plastic...which was kind of disappointing...especially for the price!

This is going to sound like a promo, but it's just me yakking:

Racing seats are NOT good when you get old and fat. I struggle enough to get in and out of my Jeep now. A few more pounds and I'd need a highlift.

But if you like those types of seats, try looking at jeepspeed.com and beard seats.

I just got the Smittybilt console with the lockable stereo space. Unlike their seats, this is nice. It is made of metal (except for the cupo holders) and has a lot of room for mounting switches for lights, lockers, etc. It was a LOT less than the Tuffy I was looking at.

I have the bestop trailmax seats in my yj. They've been in for quite a while now with no top and I love them. The driver side seat has a seam that has started coming loose but I'm gonna see if bestop makes a replacement cover. The fill in them has held up great and hasn't worn or settled at all. I would recomend these seats to anyone.

I have Corbeau seats in mine. they give great support and are extremely comfortable. Most of their seats also have openings to put in a 5 point harness. here's a link to there website Jeep® Seats by Corbeau hope this will help
