Anyone ever set a Wrangler body on a Chevy truck frame?

I have an 89 Wrangler and an older pick-up frame with 14 bolt ff and 10 bolt. I am thinking of shortening the frame and relocating the rear axle to about a 93 inch wheel base and then fabricating the body mounts and setting the Wrangler body on there. Has anyone on here ever done this or have ANY advice on do's and don'ts. Any one know of any pics of a project like this?

Sounds it will be strong when finished. I have seen some stuff like that at mud bogs, I always laugh at the truckcars/TRARS

the 10 bolt front its more or less a waste. the 14bolt rear is a very good axle. why not just weld a pair of spring perches to that and stuff it under the YJ.

I dont see the point in using the truck frame to put the jeep on.

The 10 bolt front will hold up just fine without being locked. I had a 400 plus hp K-5 and only had trouble out of the 10 bolt rear. The 14 bolt is a hoss and will hold up just fine.now when you get into the 40" range with the tires you may have some serious trouble. Good luck

I put an 83 Scrambler on a 78 Blazer frame. Wasn't too bad. Left the frame full length but it worked out good with the Scrambler wheelbase. With the way the Blazer frame is made, the Scrambler body set up kinda high. Still looked nasty though! Had a 3/4 ton 10 bolt in the front and a 14 bolt rear with 38s. Both locked and never a minutes trouble from either. Tended to abuse it on several occasions and it all held up good. Shortening the Blazer frame would be cake though if you go that route.

I agree the finished product would look much better just swapping the axles under the Jeep, but the 10-bolt I have is passenger side drop and Jeep is drivers side. Haven't looked into fitting the Chevy motor, tranny, and t-case into the Jeep and just swapping the axles. Just thought it would be much easier to set the Jeep on the truck frame, as long as I could fab the mounts so as to set it as low as possible and not look like a franken-Jeep. Thank you for your opinions, they all are helpful, keep them coming. Please!!

Decided against putting the Wrangler body on the truck frame. I am doing the engine swap and using a TH350 with the NP231 and the stock Dana 30-35 axles. Decided I didn't want the tires hanging outside the body. I am running 31" tires and non locked axles. Engine is going to be pretty mild. What do you guys think about the stock axles with this set-up?
