Auto or stick with a v8?

Ok, so I have this 360 and auto trans out of my ramcharger sitting in the garage doing nothing, the engine needs a rebuild which is the reason I pulled it to begin with. I tore it down yesterday so I can take the block and crank to the machine shop.

So my question is, would YOU stay with a 5 speed or swap over to an auto? My other plans are a soa with 2 inch springs, 1 inch body, either an explorer 8.8 and a Dana 44 or the full width axles out of the ramcharger, with 37 inch tires

I do some trails and mud whenever I can find it. But 80% of the time it's on city streets

Any input will be greatly appreciated, thank you and ::wavy::

Mine is an auto 350, and I love it.
I have nothing to say if it's better or not. But I like it.

I think it comes down to personal preference and what you will be using the Jeep for.... I have a 5 speed with my V8... Gives me complete control and alot less parts to fail...

Mine hasn't failed yet, just a leak on the thermostat. Pretty sure it's the housing.
And my damn oil pan is leaking out of the drain plug, the guy who did it put an aftermarket plug on it -_- I have a spare oil pan, but don't want to see all that new oil to be poored out

Auto and would also consider 1 ton axles. Risk breaking the axles with 37's.
