I have an aftermarket console from the PO for my Rio, but it is hard to raise and lower the passenger seat without the seatbelt latch getting stuck behind the seat. Any suggestions on brands that work well without this problem? Thanks in advance

I like the smittybilt too but I have an early yj with the narrow seats. from your name I assume you have a 95, you need a console the isn't very wide. I had a bestop console that was narrower than the smittybilt and it wouldn't fit between the seats of a friends 95

I just realized part of my reply didnt post. I went to ACE hardware and bought bigger washers for the seat belt holders/ handles on the side so it would grab more of the seat belt. It works great for me now, i dont have to fight to move the seat belt anymore. Still a tight squeeze though.

Must agree with you on the cup holders. I love the console though. A little tight but don't raise the seat all that much anyway.

Get some Velcro. The type that has the glue on the back put it between the seat belt and the side of the console. clean the area for the Velcro with a cotton ball and some rubbing alcohol so that it will stick good. Attach the seat belt to the center console and it will stay there when you raise and lower the seat.

And a pack of Velcro is about $100 cheaper than a smittybuilt console. And yes, the cup holders in a (shitty built) console suck, unless you like to chase whatever you put in them, cause the aren't designed to hold a cup of anything.

The best console is no console. haha :) I run without a console in the middle and never have the dreaded seatbelt issue. I put in a locking glovebox to store my valuables and everything else is in my ammo cans mounted to the inside of my tailgate.

I have a VDP one now. My dad convinced me to try it without for awhile and see how I like it. I was hoping to put it back in for the summer just for the cup holders but my lock is broken so I'm not sure if I want to put it in. Could I possibly get a new lock? Anybody know?

Took my vdp out and put in a smittybilt security console. Had to cut off cup holders so it would be usable and fit was about 6 in to long
