Best sources for used parts?

I am looking for a few things for my YJ, and I haven't been able to find anything reasonably priced on eBay or craigslist. Parts Jeeps are pretty scarce in my area (Boston) because the majority of them are instantly bought by a few businesses that specialize in parting out and reselling used parts.

Anyway, eBay and CL are a no-go, the classifieds here appear to be pretty dead, so I am curious where do you guys normally look for used parts? I am looking for basic things such as a stock steering wheel, front seat belts, shifter boot, etc.

I get mine from J+W Auto Wrecker In Antelope Calif. Phone #916-723-3989 They have a large selection there. I have done a lot of business with them for my 93 YJ.

GREAT & FAST service too. Parts are well packed, and in good condition.

For safety items like seat belts I'd recommend buying new ones from Quadratec or somewhere like that. You could probably find them even cheaper on RockAuto

Another source for experienced parts is Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

I am glad you guys are happy with JW, I called them today to get a quote on a few things and they gave me astronomical prices...that was even before shipping since I am on the East Coast.

I found one place in RI that specializes in Jeeps and they are a little more reasonable, but still high.

I know about Rock Auto and car-part, thank you nonetheless!

Yeah, your experience is pretty normal. I get most of my stuff from ebay, or CL.
It may be your search keywords that are holding you back.

I always look up the factory part number and search that first. There are a lot of sellers that buy up old inventories of NOS stuff but don't know what they fit, just list the part numbers.

"Jeep NOS"
"YJ"
https://boston.craigslist.org/sob/ptd/5954619049.html

"1991 jeep"
"1991 wrangler"
Stuff like this
Think up as many combinations as you can.
When I was looking for vintage jeep stuff, You would be shocked at how much good stuff I found searching "willis" and "willies" even though "willys" is the correct spelling.
"wench" for "winch" "warren" for "warn" ETC.

Try joining and checking with a local jeep group. In the DFW, where I am, the North Texas Jeep Club has about 11K members. People are always buying, selling, trading, bartering parts. Many times, stock items are free. Sometimes, people acquire a part, and rather paying a shop to put it on, buy a few cases of beer and bags and of tacos and invite people over for a wrenching party. Up to you
