My Jeep's previous owner thought he'd install the 2nd worst shocks on the market (Skyjackers...2nd only to Rough Country as the worst shocks on the market). And I'm wanting to replace them with Bilstein 5100s. I've got a 4" lift. For those of you who are running Bilstein 5100s, which ones did you go with and are you happy with those particular Bilsteins? I know they're good shocks, I just want to make sure I get the right ones for my Jeep the first time around. My Skyjackers are in fine shape, they're just Skyjackers...so they're way less than ideal.

I ran Old Man Emu Long Travels on my TJ and loved them. I've heard a lot of good things about the Bilsteins though too, so I want to go that route with this particular Jeep. Any advice with these shocks will be appreciated.

I'm not sure that this is exactly what you want, but I'd recommend that you flex out your Jeep and measure for shocks. Once you have your measurements, you can pick out the exact shock on the Bilstein page:

Product Information

This is how I flexed mine out:

The part number depends on lift size, for a 3-4" lift I Think these are the numbers I have written down.
Front 24-064576
back 24-185660
But these may have been numbers from the vendor and not Bilstein.

I got mine from a guy on the Jeep Forum by the name of Kolak. He is highly recommended on that board and gave me the best price I could find and delivered quick. Contact him with your questions and lift and he will give you what you need.

I can say the Bilstein 5100's along with my RE Extreme 4.5 has made my Jeep handle better and more comfortable than it has ever been. Remember the shocks will only be as good as the springs and other parts of the suspension, they won't make crappy springs ride nice or articulate better.

Here is his info kolak@kolakperformance.com
