Bought my 1st Jeep got a ?

Just bought a 95 Wrangler. The guy I bought it from lifted it 3" but didn't buy some extention for the transfer case or transmission or something like that. Now you can only start the Jeep while in neutral but the gear gage shows that its in Drive. Does anyone know what I am talking about and is this a costly fix?

I've got 5 inches on my YJ and I didn't have to change anything. I need an extension for my T-case lever but other than that its fine. Also, welcome to WF!

Sounds like the indicator or linkage need to be adjusted somehow. I could see a 3" body lift causing this problem, but not a suspension lift. May just need adjustment anyways.

Do you have a body lift, or a suspension lift?
