I would like to get your ideas on my first wrangler. Im going to check it out tomorrow. What are your thoughts? Any feedback is appreciated. 1992 Jeep Wrangler
Consider what you want to do to it as far as lift and bigger tires ect... If your going to "mod" it out you might want to concider a 6 cylinder. The jeep looks great and new motor with the paper work to back it up, price is very reasonable here in New Hampshire.
Well im may end up ragging out the crate motor becuase its just a crate motor and drop in a v8 4.0 which im capable of doing im pretty much buying it for the condition and just to play with temporarily. yea its a 4 cyl but it seems great for the price.
I guess its all relavent to how much you have to spend, on the 6 cylinder, from what I;ve read you get the ax-15 tranny, which can handle the v-8.The trannys in the 4 cylinders cannot. Its your decision, I was just trying to share some info I have learned from reading here.I wish I knew about this forum before I bought mine, don't get me wrong, I love my jeep and my 4 banger, But I would be further ahead with my wish list of mods if I would have bought a 6 cyl. No matter what you do if you buy a jeep you love it. Good luck with your hunt!!!
It's nice enough although a four. And swapping can get spendy. Novac's the place to get adapters and stuff. The trans in this Jeep will grenade behind a V8 or V6, its an AX5, a notoriously weak unit. Your spending Good money after Bad here. I think you know that, and were not going to advise you its a good deal, knowing it won't satisfy you in the long run. There's a horde of YJ's out there with HO 4.0's to be had. HO 4.0's make 190 hp, and a cold air K&N 3-4 more hp.
