Cheap Mods?

So like I've said before, I'm only on a highschool budget. BUT I love working on my jeep and doing new things to it. So what I'm wondering is: what are some cheap mods I can do to my jeep that won't run my pockets empty?

I'm saving up for front and rear bumpers that I wanna get hopefully by the end of July, so I don't wanna go spending too much money, but my dad has a garage full of tools and parts and anything else I could want to use in my backyard. I feel like I have almost unlimited potential of things to do I just can't seem to think of anything.

IDEAS!?!?

I'm not too great at fabricating (yet at least) so I'm not trying to do that kinda stuff for my jeep right away, maybe work on some smaller stuff to practice first.

And I've already belined the tub and put a two inch body lift in haha, and I would paint my rollbar but I have the padding on it =P

And what do you mean tint the lights?

Making some light brackets would be a small fabrication project that you can do with basic tools (depending on where you want to mount them). The best, inexpensive mod you can do is to tune up the Jeep and go through and replace all of the fluids and grease all the grease points. Keeping your Jeep maintained will make it look the best and make sure that you can make it back from any wheeling trips.
Otherwise, the only other cheap mod that I do, is to go through and rattle can anything that I don't like the color of. I repainted my dash, door panels, bumpers and undercarriage. All that will cost you is the price of the paint or bedliner that you use and some tape. It will completely change the look and make it look newer. Just my $.02

Did the LED lights in the Guages, and that looks great. What year is your Jeep?

LED lights
EAutoworks harness- this is a great mod if your jeep is older.
u have 2 in body lift, so if you wanted to do a shackle lift (not much, but 1-2 inches, thats not bad.)
If you have square headlights, you can do the HID projector upgrade (not as cheap, but still a good mod.)
- 7x6 headlight Projector Build - Jeep Cherokee Forum (Same headlights, just I know where it is on Cherokee Forum)

Well my "in the near future" plans are front and rear bumpers (which will run me almost 600) and then the RC 4 inch suspension lift for 500, so shackle lift is kinda a no go.

And I have a 95 YJ

you only answered part of my question, you correctly answered what yea your Jeep is, the YJ part was not necessary, as this is the YJ section.

What engine and transmission do you have?

Im askign because alot of "bang for your buck" items are engine related.
a K&N filter or filter kit could add perceived power, as well as a shift kit for an automatic transmission.

If you are just looking to throw an antenna on it to look kool, think if you will ever get your money out of a CB you never use? or would you use it alot?

MY favorite mod was the cheapest, most visual "show off" mod I have ever done, LED tails:

The BEST mod I ever did was fix my steering:

the LED tails cost me a whopping $40, but the steering cost me about $350.

Nope! sorry man, my YJ is a 1990 2.5L Manual.

There is a 2.5L version of the exhaust I have been toying with, but ill probably swap my motor with a Vortec 4.3L some day, so spending $300 on exhaust would be silly.

To save some money on those bumpers for the rear you can get some 3/8" C Channel from any metal yard. That is basically an extremely strong blank canvas for anything you would ever want to to to a bumper. Could do something for the front too, but it really depends on what you had in mind and how strong any welding skills are you may have.

I actually have a 1/2 angle, for my front bumper. I cut it to give it clearance for the tires. I'm really not worried about hitting anything now.
