Clutch fluid level

This seems like a stupid question, but - How do I check the clutch fluid level in a 95 wrangler? My Haynes manual says to make sure it's between add and full. However, my clutch reservoir is black and doesn't have any "window" or marks. If I remove the cover, how far down should the fluid level be?

I keep mine between 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch down from top
