Convince Me

Convince me to buy a YJ instead of a car with good MPG.

That last one is a TJ...close enough. You can't get this in a Honda Civic or Toyota Carola. Only In A Jeep!!

My jeeps get crappy mileage, but they can tow my quads and do go anywhere I point them no matter what the weather is like. I can ride with the top off all summer long and enjoy the drive instead of being trapped in a metal box.

They're not for everyone though...they're loud, get somewhat crappy mileage, and can bounce your fillings out on a rough stretch of road sometimes. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Jeeps are kinda like beer...you either like them/ want one/ won't be without one....or you don't.

Yes Jeeps are an addiction...very few people that have a Jeep for more than 2 years ever are without a Jeep again for very long.....they almost all come back.

I never heard my wife say that (to me anyway) LOL. To me there is a cool factor in owning a Jeep. My kids are already asking if I'm going to have it around when they start driving (11 & 13 yrs old). It's the only thing I have they think is cool lol.

You will never have as much fun saving gas in a Camry as you will guzzling it in a Jeep.

There's no soul in a fuel efficient car. Made to save gas and drive without giving you fits.

Jeeps have souls. They bitch and whine at you some days, other days they behave perfectly. You can lift them, put big wheels on them, drop in massive powerplants, or wheel it as stock. You put your blood sweat and sometimes tears (because men sometimes cry I guess?) into them to make them as unique as you are.

you know what I've noticed about Camrys and Corollas? They are all the same!!! Nothing unique about them.

Sounds like you don't need convincing your Dad does. When my son wanted one years ago I said if you can afford it go for it. He loved it so did I. Years later...well he no longer owns one but I do and he loves it as well as his kids. My grandson already plans on it being his some day. It's a 95 YJ lots of fun for young and old.

Just sold my yj a week ago for a mustang gt. It snowed yesterday. The mustang sucks in snow. I cant go offroad anymore and I can't take the dang doors off! When it gets warm the top can't come off on this car. I never worried about getting speeding tickets and now I'm always on the look out for cops. I miss my yj like crazy. I still catch myself saying, I'll go in the jeep! Then I remember, oh wait, I lost my mind and sold the jeep. Jeeps are the best, no matter their gas mileage. They have their own personalities that you will shortly learn and come to love.

Yeah, I'll be back some day within the next 2 years. Can you tell?

better gas mileage on a jeep just means throw in a diesel..........

as for convincing, you've never spent time in a jeep because you wouldnt have to ask.
