Couple questions about my new '88

Just got my first Jeep, and I've got lots of questions, but here are a couple to start.

Windshield wipers. I noticed that when you turn them off, they don't return to the most clockwise position. They just stop wherever, and I have to tap the switch to get them to stop where I want them. I know that the limit switch fails on some wiper motors, but since these wipers are always in the line of sight anyway, I thought maybe they don't automatically park. So should they park, or not?

Door locks. I don't have any. Neither side door, nor the tailgate. But I see some soft top YJ's that do have locks. What is the deal with that? Is it a trim package thing? Or the year? It's a soft top, so locks are not going to matter anyway, so it's just a question I had.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on the wipers. Mine stop in the same spot but it is not to the far right.

my wipers usually stop on the right side, sometime I have to toggle them.
my 87 half doors don't have locks. tailgate does. wouldn't lock them if they did, don't carry anything worth stealing and don't want some scumbag slitting my top to find out.

I believe the wipers were 'designed' to stay in that strange position not flush with the window frame. I adjusted mine out of view and never even turn them on. RainX is perfect for a YJ windshield. As far as locks I agree they are really not necessary. My top is never on so I make it easy and I don't leave anything of value behind. Anyway, who would chance stealing from a Marines vehicle lol

I have locks and have not used them. My theory is If people want to break in and it is locked, they will shred the top. Like others mention I don't leave anything in there. I carry it to the extreme by only using a cheap stereo nobody wants.
