From Rochester to chicago is about 9hrs. I looked it up on google maps. I guess it depends on witch way you go. Where is Kingston?

Here's a new one I just saw. Looks solid, price is a little high but if it checks out he will get at least $5500 I think.

I can see someone buying that for 3k and fixing it. If it really only toasted the exterior, it may look a lot better with a wash.

I paid $5700 for my YJ with 123k miles on it. Yes the 2.5, clutch, and ax5 were orignal.. But it was bone stock (except crappy 30 inch tires) and zero rust through anywhere. Every YJ I looked at for 3-4000 had holes in the floor or body or a horrid looking frame. I do intend on replacing the clutch before it gives out and refreshing the trans, but it is still running like a champ. Sometimes you can find a gem, but you have to pay for it and wait. Took my 3-4 months of hard searching to find mine.

Mann. I'm new to jeeps and to this forum. But it seems like the jeeps wehere you folks stay have a lot less miles and cheaper! Over here in California I thought 170,000 was low! And well damn over priced. Picked mine up for $4000 95 2.5 wrangler

I paid $4200 for a nearly identical YJ in the same area, and mine hadn't been on fire, haha.

I got my 95 from a man in my small town back home in Oregon for 7.9k with the old and new soft top, 28k miles. No rust, great condition, put 33's on it, about to take off the track arms.

I did a LOT of searching and I picked up my '88 with 180k on the clock, clean as a whistle for 3k. It's the i6 5speed too...

I really feel like I found a gem. Frame was clean and only some light paint bubbling on the right front fender and under the window frame.. couldn't believe it!

I paid $2150 for my 95 on CL, all stock except for a 3" BL with new 31" AT tires. Only thing wrong with it was the AX5 had lost 5th gear so I swapped in an AX15. Had 97k when I picked it up. This was the day I picked it up.

I paid $500 for an 88 yj with 63,000 original miles. I6, 5spd. It was sitting for 5 years. I have about $1800 in it. Had to replace the carb with a weber and then switched to a GM hei ignition. All new brakes and lines. Only rust was in the drivers floor pan. I replaced it. Everything else was clean. Has a 5 year old super top. I've put 9,000 miles on it this year.
They are out there to be found. If you see one sitting, go ask about it! Of course, I just bought a 13 rubi, so the yj is sitting again. Lol. Good luck! Jason

In Colorado I bought my '93 2.5l with 80k for $5000. I think that is the sweet spot for YJ's, as far as price goes. It can fluctuate depending on upgrades to the Jeep. Mine was stock.

Cant say it is not worth it, but I bet it has been abused from the looks of it. Also, it has the Dana 35 and AX5, both of which suck. He also does not have the milage listed, and it might not be able to pass inspection where you live. I know without flares that would not in PA. With 5 new tires though, and the winch, rollcage, hard and soft top combo I would say it is worth the time. I would offer him $3500-$4k, just because I never pay what the listed price is in a CL add. I would not pay the $4500 he is asking either way.

It's actually my ad. I just wanted some opinions whether people thought I was way off on price. It has 135k miles on it. I just picked it up on Saturday and figured I would try to sell it whole before I part it out this weekend. I agree with you about never paying what listed price is. Either way, $3500-$4000 works for me as I will more than double my investment. DJ

Wasn't trying to be shady. I just wanted an honest opinion about what people thought. I know personally if someone asks what people think, I personally don't want to bash them for asking too much or tell them it's a piece of crap for the price. By me posting it like that I was hoping to get brutal honesty which is what I was looking for. I wasn't trying to be sneaky or anything. The Jeep is listed in the for sale section and it's under my name so nothing shady about it. DJ
