decided to paint my bumper/skid plates today.

I got tired of my bumper/bumperettes and skid plate looking like crap so i decided that today was the day to pick up some flat black rustoleum and paint them. Here's some pics of before and after. How's it look?

Before:

After:

I think it looks 10x better. I also went around and painted my front bumper, shackles, and any part of the frame that was visible to the naked eye.

It takes about 3/4 to a full can of black rustoleum to really make sure it looks good. I ended up using two because i did the front bumper/shackles/frame.

You should put some rust conversion paint on your tubs rust too. Not real expensive either. Then You will find Farm N Fleet rattle cans of tractor paint has a real close match to our red jeeps. Massy Fergoson Red

Can you recommend some rust converter to me? And is it possible to get an exact match in rattle can to our red? I have some left over from when i had a friends dad paint my new fender so i know the color code and name. Could i just call somewhere and find a rattle can of it?

Go to the paint dept in Farm and Fleet ,they have it. It is not an exact match however it is inexpensive rattle can and easy to do. Massy Fergoson Red. Looks a lot better than rust spots as in your pictures. I am not saying paint the entire Jeep.
I am sure you could take it to a body shop and have the whole thing painted the exact color red. You money.

You can go to any bumper to bumper parts store that has a paint section and they should be able to put custom mix acrylic enamal into a spray can for you. If you have the code already it should be easy. Here in Arkansas it is about $7 a can.

Bringing this post back from the dead...

Anyone mind posting their front bumper photos?

Did you take the bumper off and then spray it or just covered the jeep up and went to town.

Anything better than the black rustoleum spray cans?
