Do I need a new engine?

So I just bought a '91 jeep wrangler 4cyl 5spd and just noticed that the oil pressure gauge is shooting to 80 and past when I accelerate. Now I am not mechanically inclined, and I had a buddy of mine who is really good with jeeps look it over right when I got it and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. When I pop off the oil cap, there is a lot of blowback. I even took it to a shop today and the guy told me that I would need a new engine because of a bearing going bad. Now should I believe him, or go beat the guy up who sold me the jeep? I don't really want to put a new engine in it, but I do love my jeep. What do you guys think it is? Anything feedback would be much appreciated.

Before you do anything put a mechanical gauge on and verify your oil pressure then go from there

Pop on a mechanical gauge first. NEVER go off of just one source.

The blow by if you have it could be caused by a blocked PCV valve or line. The high oil pressure should be checked as stated above, electrical oil pressure gauges are notoriouly inaccurate..
