"Economy Suspension" Lift Kit on JC Whitney your thoughts?

Economy Suspension Lift Kits for Jeep CJ & Wrangler - JCWhitney

Link is attached, but once you put in '91 YJ it bumps the price to $302. Anyway, it's kind of misleading. I went searching for the 2.5" RC lift and this popped up. I don't think its the full RC 2.5" lift.

Would you buy this when comparing it to the 2.5"? I'm not an off-roader, but I wouldn't giving it a little lift. I have 30" tires, so I'm looking for an economy lift like this product says. Make my Jeep look more aggressive.

What do you guys think?

I would pass, that is just an add a leaf kit, not full leaf springs.. I would get one that had new replacement springs...otherwise you paying a lot for shocks.

Yeah, I'd pass on that too. Your leaf springs are probably pretty flat by now anyway, so I'd go with the RC 2.5 lift which comes with new leaf springs all around, new shocks, and you can get new hardware too. I don't off-road that frequently and wanted a more aggressive look like you're saying, but with a budget price. You can check out my profile to see what it looks like with 31's.

If you are looking for an "economy lift" look at other vendors besides JCWhitney . . . from what I've seen, they are over priced and you can usually find the same product cheaper elsewhere.

I found this when searching for lift kits the other day....Great price it seems, from what I've found.

4" Suspension Lift Kit for 87-96 Wrangler YJ by Rough Country

Their 2.5" RC lift is the same price...

Very true but with 4" I don't want to NEED or HAVE to get a sye, or t-case drop, or new ratios, or whatever else is needed. The reviews are mixed on 4" lifts. So, I wish the RC 2.5" was cheaper but I won't need any of that other stuff, and I won't need new tires since I run 30" now and the 2.5 recommends 31 which I can get later.

I'll think about it though, thanks.

The RC 4" comes with a T-Case drop included. I'm finishing up one on my 95. Everything needed to get back on the road is included with the kit. I've talked to them on the phone....very helpful and friendly people. I got mine off ebay thru RC. Got a few dollars off but the shipping is still the killer. Good luck and be sure to read and understand the instructions completely before installation.

I still needed the t-case drop kit with the 2.5 RC lift. The guy at RC told me over the phone that I should wait and drive it before ordering it. Some Jeeps need it, some don't. It was cheap (some people use washers for a DIY solution) and easy enough to install though. I used the skyjacker version.

Oh okay, well i like the 2.5" life like you have, plus with my Jeep being almost 20 years old, I'm sure the 2.5" lift will really get me close to 3" plus.

And I want to get away with 30" tires before upgrading to 31s. I dont want to ride 30" with a 4 inch lift.

Well, that's what I get for trying to speed read during work. totally missed one post that explained it all. Just trying to say call RC about it and see what the differences were.

I'll try to do better.
