Thumbs up First time Bikini top buyer

Hey everyone, I bought my 92' Wrangler last October and now I've started looking at buying a Bikini top for this spring and summer to use instead of the softtop I have on it now, but I need help from the experts here. When I look in JC Whitney at the tops, they all say they need a specific windshield channel. Does this mean I have to change out the one I already have, or are they just stating this for the people that have hard tops that way they know they have to have a windshield channel. Any replies are greatly appreciated

You are correct. Bestop and other use the standard soft top channel for the windshield attachment.

Would probably be best if you asked for help in the TJ forum. But same principals as the YJ.

I have a 95 with a 'safari' style bikini top by Bestop. That means it goes from the windshield all the way the the back of the family roll cage (only works with 92-95 YJs, of course). All that is required to attach it is to run a piece through the windshield runner that comes with every soft topped YJ and attach a few straps to the cage and one inside to the windshield. If you have a soft top and the windshield runner for it, all you need is the cloth bikini.
I can upload pics of the assembly if you want.

I have it on now. Took the soft top off to fix it, but probably won't put it back on until there is at least 4" of snow this November. Maybe not even then...
I like the safari bikini so much I think I'm going to visit Softopper in nearby Boulder, CO and get their frameless that is just a safari bikini with windows you can zip on occasionally (read: in blizzards).

I've been thinking of getting the 3 piece summer combo but I'm not sure if I can justify the amount of $ they want for it. Also I have a Bestop Replaceatop with original style furniture would I need a windshield adapter? I was looking at them on quadratec and couldn't figure it out.

Nope. Nothing else is needed (as long as you have a YJ). It uses the standard YJ windshield channel.
