Floor...

Hello all.
I have a 89 wrangler Laredo that I pick up a month or so ago.. I knew there was a hole in the floor on the drivers side where the seat belt bolts to the floor.. I got all four panels to do the entire floor so I don't have to worry about it for a few years.. I will put the bed liner coating on it when it is done... I striped every thing out. Boy I hate torkes bolts.. Hahahah all but a few I had to drill out and tap.. Seat belt bolts on the passenger side where the hard ones.. Thank goodness for heat and a impacted gun.. So I took it over to a local body shop to get a price to put the floor in... The one thing I don't have is a Mig... But oh well... So he looked at it.. A little thinking and he tossed out a ballpark price.. He is working on a quote on paper for me.. His ballpark was $1500.. This is not my first time at doing this. I know it will take time.. Something I don't have with having 11 kids. Hahahahaha but I thought that was a bit high... I would post some pictures but I am new on here.. It is the black one in my profile. Have to learn how.. Plus I use a IPad. Any comments ? Thanks for reading my long ass post..
Gus

Take on the job your self as long as it is not a DD. You may be able to find another place instead of a body shop try someone who welds for a living they are usually metal workers and craftsman.

A simple 90Amp 110v flux core welder from Harbor Freight for about $120 will work fine for doing your floors in your YJ.

Get some scrap and start practicing. Watch videos on Youtube etc.

You want to make sure that you do over lapping spot welds to weld the thin sheet metal in. But do about 2-4" on one side, then go to another, then another. This helps spread out the heat and helps to reduce warping the metal.

11 kids! I have two and have barely any time to do anything. How the heck do you do it with 11? You're a good man. I wish I had some advice on your floor pan issue but I am new to Jeeps. Good luck brother!
