folding down soft top

i always see how other YJs and TJs fold their tops down in the back of thier jeeps instead of taking it all off.

but i can not figure out how to fold it down like that!!!! does anyone have any instructions or anything that could help me?

First remove the windows. Unlatch the windshield clamps, and then unclip the plastic retainers at the rear, then unhook the plastic retaining clips around the door seals, then start at the front and fold it back. google youtube videos and you'll find some.

JK here...but I just folded my top down today for the first time! Yay! It was about 55 degrees at noon and I said to myself...self...we're going topless today! So I set about folding it down (just like IG said) take out the windows, release the front clips and on the JK there are a couple of latches over the doors that the top frame locks into...released those, and down she went! Had to fuss with the folding part a little but it all went in nicely! Went for a nice ride but figured I'd better get back before the coolness of the late afternoon set in...got back, reversed the order and she went up very easily...just takes a little finessing here and there. Sorry to hijack your YJ thread but if yours is anything like mine it's pretty easy, like InfernoGirl says...I loved it!

You mean the frame and everything? There's gotta be a way just to fold it!

It's possible, I do it in my 94. You jut have to finangle the way to do it.
I believe in mine, on the rails behind the where the slider is, there was a plastic peg that would keep that from folding down as far as necessary, so I removed that peg...I also disconnect mine from the very back top bar when I fold it down. It makes it easier somehow or another.

As far as I know it shouldn't change everything, but then again I don't know much.

My friend has the newer roll bar and I'll be installing mine this summer and he doesn't have any trouble
