found a yj i want. want to know if this lift is legit.

idk ive never seen a body lift like this for the front. just wanna see if its done right or a hackjob. and the rear main seal looked like it leaks but idk if it actually does.

heres info 95-- arctic cat green?? 70,000 on 4.0 5 speed, salvage it was rolled. believed to be 6 inch lift on 35's. it drives/rides real nice. tough to turn them tires though at a slow speed. it feels like it has a short throw shifter. no top and no doors id have to buy those instantly since winter is coming and i can paint at college so that wont be a problem. i can probly get it for $4,000 is this a good price? idk how much salvage would affect it.

well that's a 3" BL so idk if u wnat that, it all depends on what you think it looks like. Do you think it looks aweful? It basicly depends on your tastes. ALthough there is a 1:1000000000 chance that your body will pop off of the frame. I would tak ehtat to a fab shopa nd have them take a look at those welds though before i bought it

I bought mine for 4000 no salvage with a top and doors. I dont know about where you live but you can get those around here for 1500. If you do get it take that BL off, the trails will snap those.

alright thanks guys. after driving that though i definitely hate my 4 cylinder lol. i had no clue the 6 had that much more power. does the 6 turn really low rpms compared to the 4 or do you think it was regeared or something? cause the rpms were way lower than my 4 cylinder.

and that was the only part of the body lift that looked bad. they rest were all normal poly bushings.

Oh and do you think that was a jeep color?? cause i really like it and if i could find one similar to that color than thats what i want later down the road.

no, that's definitely not a Jeep color. Unless there was a Jeep in the Fast and the Furious...

Think I would trust the poly's BL more then that thin metal and questionable welding job.

Supports

I think those are welded in to compensate for the gap between body & frame. The front only has one body mount, so where the square tube was welded would be where the body would have originally set on the frame. Extra support to the front end.

yea, im not a fan of body lifts at all any more then one inch. i think it makes the jeep look like crap in my opinion that that HUGE gap between the frame and the body. plus, i dont trust them when they are that big. and i REALLy wouldnt trust that one. looks more home made then anything to me. doesnt look like it would take much to shift those things to the side while wheeling

also, you are right about the personal preference for color. on jeeps, im not so much a fan of the bright color. i like the color on the jeep to be more earthy like green, or tan, or even blue

Hey, I say buy the Jeep if you want the Jeep. Fixing that body mount is a cheap fix. Besides, it's a Jeep...you're going to mod the thing anyways to suit your tastes. That's why we buy these vehicles. And life's too short to second guess yourself. Buy it if you want it and go from there...it's only money, and we all know that Jeep mods cost money anyway.

if its suppose to have a soft top then it should have rails. but, if it had a hard top, then it wouldnt need any rails, so maybe he had a hard top on it before.

hard tops mounts to the body and the soft has its own seperate rails that are removed when the soft top is off.

That's not homemade...... It looks like a Preformance Accessories Body lift. Those pieces of square box tube are part of the kit and are there for support only. If you look at a stock Jeep those rubber pads sit right on the frame. The pieces of box tube are there to extend the frame up so they still rest on someting. (also keeps the front part of the body from rolling, since there is only one body mount up front.)
I have the 2" Version of that same body lift on my 93' and it works great! It's been on there for 2 years and I take mine out on the trail almost every weekend and work it hard! It's never snapped a body bolt or given me any trouble!
Highly recommend the Preformance Accessories Body lift kit!!

avjeepfreek, I'm glad somebody else knew what the mount was for. Welding's not that great but the part really isn't heavy load bearing anyway.
