I am not a fan of chrome so I decided to go flat black.

You should go over the black with rustoleum spray bedliner. Check my profile pics. It will be more durable then the paint.

Yea it holds up nice. Just scuff the paint u just laid with some sandpaper. Clean the surface and the can of bedliner is like $7.

Looks good. I did the same thing. Layed a good coat of rust stop and covered with hurculiner. Took that stupid Crome piece off and trying to sell it for more small parts.

i also have done this on my red yj, i used flat black engine enamel. looks good. definetly changes the whole attitude of the jeep

Mine was not chrome but tan. I flat blacked it because my jeep is sprayed in black bedliner. Like the looks of black alot better than chrome even though i have diamond plate on the sides. lol.

yea chrome is horrible anywhere really lol. maybe a muscle car but thats it
