what is the best material to use to seal between shift floor pan cover and the front floor tunnel pan

Hardware stores sell a seal stuff in a roll you can form into a rope. Can't remember what it's call but rv'ers use it to seal behind lights ect.

Butyl tape, they also sell a version at RV shops.
