If you have a CCL you can take it with you. If not you are breaking the law.

I can't find the post, but I have seen a guy took one of those wall mounted clips for holding broom handles and mounted it on his dash between his dash pad and door, over the speaker, like military humvees have, he didn't make the butt holder for it yet but it still worked without it.

actually that depends a lot on what state you live in. As well as other things... in some you do not need a permit to carry. And in others, you do not need a permit to carry a gun in your vehicle as long as there are not bullets and the gun within reach of each other. In some, even if they are locked in the trunk your still not supposed to even transport. Some let you carry open on your hip, some don't... Either way, it takes a lot of learning what laws govern what states on gun laws if your traveling state to state.

To bad all a criminal has to do is just bring a gun...

Anyways... I found it nice to rest a winter hat in the center console and set my .45 in there. Its a bit uncomfortable on me because its a little wide (Glock 30 sub).
