Hard Starting...

My Jeep runs great. I have no problems with it anywhere except when starting it. It's not really bad, but I have to actually hold the key over for several turns to get it to crank. I have new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, air filter, starter and battery. I wouldn't suspect anything fuel related because it doesn't have any problems while running. Could it be timing? Or maybe the coil isn't hot enough for the first crank (it is factory original)?

Starter is brand new (comes with solenoid). I think it might be the fuel filter. That's about the only thing I haven't replaced yet.

Both of my YJ's started a little hard all of the time. They always started, but always took longer than any other car I have driven. My Grandfather has a Comanche that takes a minute to start as well. I think that this may just be a Jeep thing...

Now that I have gone into all of that, has it always started "long", or is it a recent thing? If it runs well all of the time, I wouldn't think that your fuel filter would be the issue... Just a thought.

If you have to ask what it is or what it does, you don't need it, and you will need help to install it!

Ok well that settles that. It runs good, just takes a minute to start. Thanks.
