Hard Top dumb question

Okay, I know this is going to make me sound ignorant. Heck, I am! I just bought a hard top for my 93 and never having owned a jeep prior to this I'm full of questions. It didn't come with any hardware which is okay. But to my way of thinking it looks like I need to take off all the soft top channels to install the hard top. Am I correct in my thinking? I haven't removed the soft top yet because I just got full doors for the jeep too. I need to do some body work and paint everything before I install. Since summer is just around the corner I'll probably just test fit everything after it's painted and put the soft top back on till fall. I just wanted to know what I needed to do before I take the top off. Thanks for the info and please excuse my ignorance.

Steve

Yeah it's best to remove all the channels, it's not that bad.

I always took off all the soft channels except the one on the rear tailgate, which in my caes was screwed in with sheetmetal screws. If you don't take off the side channels there is a chance your hardtop won't seal properly to the front windshield frame.
