Question Hard top question

I am looking to get a hard top for my 1995 Jeep Wrangler. I found someone that has one from a 1984 Jeep Wrangler. I need to know if anyone outn there knows if this will fit before I decide to drive over 3 hours to go look at it.

Thanks!

I'm am almost positive it will, I think even the old cj tops work on yj. I think the tubs are the same only the front clip changes. I could be all wrong though.

I too am pretty sure it will work. There may be some differences in the lift gate, but you should be OK.

87-95 hard tops are interchangeable, anything older or newer will not work without modifications. Cj-s are narrower than the wranglers, and 96 up, are different dimensions also, so, an 84, won't work unless you are into modifying. An 84 is a CJ

I am not 100% positive, but I think you are wrong about the width difference. I know that you can use CJ fenders and hoods on YJ's. I have seen this conversion done a couple of times. That would mean that they are the same at the firewall and they don't taper so they would be the same in the back too.

Surely it will...same jeep brand, nothing much difference in the body. It would really cause you less if you'll have some used Jeep Wrangler parts since it's a lot cheaper by about half of the new ones. Just consider that it should be still in good condition.
