Hello from Iceland

Hi guys I'm from Iceland and just found this great forum on the internet and of course I had to join in !

I've got a 1992 Jeep Wrangler with a 2.5 liter engine and I've done the SOA conversion and put 35" Goodyear Wrangler MT's on it, here in Iceland we use the big tires to get anywhere we want in the snow, we deflate them down to 1-2 pounds and then we can float over almost any kind of snow.

Before I lifted the wonder I concentrated on the interior and it has gotten real cozy, I've covered the inside of the hard top with black car carpet and that made a real difference. Then I've got a killer sound system, all Pioneer and video system, yep that's right 8" lcd flip down monitor and a PS2.

For a man like me that loves to travel, i found myself on the internet a roof tent and bought one, it's the greatest investment I know of for your jeep, I just love to sleep there and it has great room for 2 with area to cook and everything.

For the tent I made a great roof rack from stainless steel that bolts to the strong places of the hard top and it holds everything I have put up there. Snowbards, skis, shovels, hi-lift jack, the tent, just name it and it will go up there.

To match the roof rack I am making new custom bumpers and running boards from diamond plate aluminum.

For traveling I have GPS, and a VHF radio.

The next step for the jeep are ARB lockers and 4.88 ratio diffrentials and of course some nice lights on the top and the front bumper and some work lights in the back. Then the little jeep will be ready to take on anything. Well of course it would be nice to have a V8 Hemi under the hood, it would help a little.

So guys just wanted to show you that there are also many nice jeeps in Iceland, we lift anything that we can think of Ford econilines, excursions, Chevrolet Suburbans, Toyota Land Cruisers, Hi-lux, and just name it !

Please comment on what you think of my Wrangler ! And check out my website www.jonni.is !

Welcome, Jonas. Your pictures make me home sick. Glad you found this site, and sure do appreciate your pictures. Nice to have another Norse Man, aboard. That tent is awesome. So is the territory, you wheel in.

To ddavie's question if the tent would work with a soft top. If you have a roof rack that goes over the soft top it will work, like the one from Bestop "HighRock 4x4™ Modular Hinged Roof Rack System" that connects to the body of the vehicle and is free from the top, then yes it would probably work !

Hey bluvikng, where are you from, can't find anything about that in your profile except, Texas ?

I live about 30 miles, south of Fort Worth, TX. In the country, between Alvarado, and Cleburne. It is very nice this time of year, but gets hotter than hatties, in the summer.
