hey just got a 1989 jeep wrangler

i have a 1989 jeep wrangler 4.2. currently has lift kit bigger wheels and tires. anyway back to my question. I would like to swap in a chevy 350 into the jeep. What tranny would i need to use? what other little things i should do with the swap. thanks for the help i really appreciate it

i've heard you can use the jeep stock manual trans in the 4.0 driveline. the ax15, that would be an easy to find, cost effective trans. other manual trans to look into are t-18 sm420 and sm465. these are all older, super low gear 4 spd trans. one of the best 5 speeds of now days is the nv4500, not cheap.

thanks for the help. would the stock trans from the 89 work?

oooh, you might have the ax 15. right at that year or so they were using two transes. the ax 15 is a yes, the peugot trans that it might be is no, that trans sucks.
