I mounted mine on my spare tire. I bought 2 carraige bolts and 2 large wing nuts to fit the bolts. What i did was take the spare tire off, put the two bolt through the back of the tire in the hole that were not being used by the spare tire mount. Then i put the tire back on and tightened the bolts on the spare tire. I slid the jack onto the bolts via the holes in the jack and then put on the wingnuts and i was done. Cost me about 10 bucks. This is probably not the best way but it works. Bluviking told me about this one.

I tried mounting mine on my tail gate. It did not work out well, put a lot of stress on my tail gate, and scuffed up my spare tire. If you try this method I would reccomend offsetting the Hi-Lift from the tire.

Here's a write up I like. Though I'm not sure how the roll bar pads would hold up to that over time.

I would reccomend buying the 4x-rac and bolting it to one of your bumpers.

I own a Rubicon, its on layaway with Quadratec...on a part-by-part basis

don't mount it outside the jeep when you need a hilift jack you need a hilift jack not some rusted up filled with mud and sand piece of krap. These things are dangerous enough when they work rite much less when you have to fight them I keep mine in the jeep on the floor in front of the back seat.

But unless you're out on the trail, you don't leave the thing mounted on the bumper do you? My jeep's a DD and I don't think I'd leave any trail equipment in it.

well thanks to all of you. i never really thought about not taking it with me until i was going wheelin. but i still need a place to mount it somewhere i think i might mount it on the roll bar. but thanks a lot guys. but it is the least of my problems at the moment. we went to do some wheeling to day and everything was going great. but we went to leave and i got in and found that i had no clutch. so i pumped it up a little bit and it came back. but i am haveing a hard time keeping a stiff petal. any ideas. its got plenty of fluid.

I mounted my jack behind the back seat. I ran a couple of 6" bolts up through the wheel wells, set some old skateboard wheels on them, and held the jack on with a wing nut.
