Pointless waste of money. All higher octane fuels do is prevent early detonation in high compression or forced induction engines.

The motor is designed to run on 87, anything else is a waste of money.

Howdy!
We up here in Finland usually use 95 octane fuel. When I bought my Jeep, it had 98 oct fuel in the tank and ran well, no problems.

Octane ratings are calculated differently around the world.

In North America the nominal octane rating posted at the pump is (RON + MON)/2.

Does Finland use this method?

To the OP, run 87 octane, anything more is a waste of money.

Its not going to hurt your engine it just does not need it. European cars are designed and built for the best fuel available, they have always been like that.

No idea, really. All I know is the lowest octane gas sold here is 95 and the other option is 98.
