How many inches after flipping leaf springs?

I have talked to a couple of guys who say the best way to get a couple of inches since I have leaf springs would be to put the leaf's on top of the axle. Any guesses on how much of a lift that would give me and what all would I have to change after I did that?

I think you get about 4 or 5 inches. I could be wrong though. Try doing a search for "SOA"

It is a good way to gain lift but it is very involved and expensive.

it is a great suspension for a yj, but like payj said, its not cheap and easy. it gives you 5.5" on average. the common misconception is its cheap cuz you can re use your leaf springs. although you can, its not a great idea, most yj's are rolling around on pretty old springs, soa puts more strain on them and they get negative arc.

it is a better performing suspension on road and off, but regular lift kits are quicker, cheaper, and easier if you don't have the tools and knowledge to do the soa. if anyone asks me what they should do i wouldn't hesitate to say do a spring over.
